It's about Helmut, the pub owner from my home village. He has grown old and has to close the pub. His organs collapse from years of work and consumption. The three central objects of the installation are the beer taps. Litres of beer have flowed through their pipes. Now the stainless steel barrels are filled with water that comes from a special spring.
Memory: There is a spring in the valley. A pipe protrudes from the mountain where cool water splashes into a basin sunk into the ground. Green algae hang from the end of the pipe and the water flows along them. I imagined that this gives the water a special filtration.
The plant leaves a slight beer taste in the spring water that passes through its organism. It is purified, so to speak. The more visitors drink from the water, the faster this process takes place.
